YouTube video · 28:42

17 songs timestamped

+ 11 more tracks · test of 12/10/2026

Real resultA 28:42 YouTube vlog analyzed during our tests on October 12, 2026: six of the seventeen songs found, from the middle of the video.

In short

  • Grab the video link (Share, then Copy, or the page address), paste it above, and read the tracklist: each song is pinned to the minute it begins.
  • Videos up to 5 minutes are listened to continuously; beyond that, in 10-second samples every 30 seconds. A song shorter than about fifteen seconds can slip between two samples, and the result says so.
  • YouTube’s own “Music” section in the description confirms a title when it exists, but it is often missing and never gives timestamps.

How it listens

The whole video, not the first ten seconds

Most song identifiers take one short sample and give you one title. That works for a music video, not for a vlog where the music changes with every scene. We scan the full length: a video of 5 minutes or less is listened to without gaps, and a longer one is sampled for 10 seconds every 30 seconds, about 57 samples for a 28-minute vlog.

Samples that recognize the same recording are grouped, which gives each song the minute it starts, and every later time it comes back. The result is a tracklist you can scroll, not a single guess.

The trade-off is stated on every result where it applies: a song that plays for less than about fifteen seconds can fall between two samples. In the vlog of our tests, a two-second stinger at 3:46 was still caught, but that isn’t guaranteed.

Real example

A 28-minute vlog, seventeen songs

During our tests on October 12, a 28:42 YouTube vlog went through the engine. Seventeen tracks came out, from a solo violin piece at 0:02 to “The Tide Is Turning” at 26:50, many of them production music by composers you’ve never heard of.

Scores ranged from 100% down to 19%. Seven titles sat under 50% and were flagged “double-check”: short passages, music under talking, or a fragile match. The last five songs of the video are shown here; the hero above shows six from the middle.

A one-shot identifier would have returned a single title for that video. The tracklist is what makes a long video searchable: you see what plays at 18:07 without scrubbing through the whole thing.

YouTube’s own info

What the “Music” section in the description gives you

When YouTube detects a track registered by its rights holders, it adds a “Music” section at the bottom of the description, with the title, the artist and sometimes the album. On a phone, tap the description to expand it and scroll down; on a computer, click “more”.

Trust it when you find it. Expect gaps, though: royalty-free and library tracks, brief excerpts and edited versions rarely appear, and some videos simply never get the section. Timing is never part of it, and in a twenty-minute video timing is the whole question.

  • Licensed commercial songsOften listed with title and artist.
  • Production library musicSometimes listed, depending on the catalog behind it.
  • TimestampsNever: you don’t know which song plays when.
  • Edited versions and short stingersRarely listed: the video has to be listened to.

Links that work

Watch pages, youtu.be, timestamps, Music links

Any public or unlisted video works: a youtube.com/watch address, a short youtu.be link from the Share button, a music.youtube.com link, or a youtube.com/shorts address for a Short. A timestamp at the end of the link (?t=754) is fine: the whole video is analyzed anyway, and you can match the moment against the tracklist.

Private videos, members-only videos and age-restricted videos can’t be opened by the engine. A livestream that is still running can’t be analyzed either; wait until it ends and the replay is published.

youtu.be/1 4macQ5F7Lt02 ?t=7543

  1. 1YouTube’s short share domain (youtube.com/watch?v= works too)
  2. 2the video ID, which is all we need
  3. 3an optional start time in seconds, ignored by the analysis
A YouTube share link. The timestamp can stay: the whole video is analyzed.

Limits

Why 5 minutes, and what to do with a longer video

Every minute listened to is billed to us by the recognition engine, so YouTube videos are listened to with credits: 1 per 5 minutes, up to 2 hours. For a 3-hour livestream, look for a tracklist in the description or the pinned comment, or paste the link of a shorter clip of the same stream.

Library music is everywhere on YouTube, and much of it is also on Spotify or Apple Music under the composers’ names, which is why unknown titles still get recognized. A name is not a license: check the terms before reusing a track in your own upload.

A YouTube video, its tracklist

  1. Copy the link

On a phone: Share under the video, then Copy link. On a computer: the address in the browser bar.

  2. Paste it here

Short clips take seconds; a half-hour vlog takes a few minutes.

  3. Close the tab if you like

The result has its own address: the analysis keeps going, come back when it’s ready.

  4. Jump to the moment

Every song has its timestamp, so you can check it on YouTube in one tap.

Updated on

How do I find all the songs used in a YouTube video?

Paste the video link above. The scan runs over the full length and returns a tracklist: start time, title, artist and confidence for each song.

How do I find the song playing at a specific moment?

Look at the tracklist: the song you want is the last one that starts before your moment. A song that comes back later in the video is listed at each of its passes.

How long can the video be?

Up to 2 hours, with credits (1 per 5 minutes). Up to 5 minutes the listen is continuous; beyond that it uses 10-second samples every 30 seconds.

Why is a song I can hear missing from the list?

Three usual reasons: it plays for under fifteen seconds and falls between two samples, it is buried under a voice, or it was composed for the video and never released anywhere.

Does it work with unlisted videos?

Yes, since the link is enough to watch them. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos can’t be opened.

Can I use it on a livestream?

On the public replay, yes, within the length limit. A stream that is still live can’t be analyzed until it has ended.

What does the percentage next to each song mean?

It’s the confidence returned by the recognition engine. Above 70% the match is solid; under 50% it is flagged “double-check”.

Is this YouTube song finder free online?

It runs in the browser with nothing to install. YouTube videos are listened to with credits, from €2.99 for 10; Shorts are free with an account, and videos already analyzed open with no account.

Do you download the video?

No. The audio streams through the recognition engine and is discarded; what stays is the tracklist, which becomes the public result page.
